Quality & Tradition

It was in 1950 that Hans Schweikert, a dog lover and passionate breeder of German Shepherd dogs, discovered a large supply gap concerning dog equipment. Back then, it was not seldom to see a dog at a breed dog show being led on an old rope, not having a leash or a collar. Dog trainers of police or protection dogs usually did not have a protection sleeve as today, but were forced to use self-made equipment such as an old potato sack wrapped around the forearm … Hans Schweikert had striking ideas an founded the company Hans Schweikert- Sattlerei für Hundesport. He began manufacturing hand sewn dog leads and collars and developed protection suits and sleeves for dog training.
Since 1987 the company is owned by Michael Schweikert and is now named Schweikert Hundesport-
artikel e.K.
. Michael Schweikert is a professional master saddler and learned his profession right from the roots. Being a dog handler and trainer in the dog club he belongs to, Michael knows what equipment is needed for successful training. Many of the new products for dog training were developed together with professional dog handlers and trainers worldwide. Schweikert products have grown out of tradition, paired with know-how and made by specialists.
